Pear and Blue Cheese

INGREDIENTS

  • HIJINX ice cream mix 
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons blue cheese crumbles
  • 1 cubed pear

OPTIONAL

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Honey

EASY VERSION

1. Warm the milk over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil).

2. Using a blender, combine one packet of HIJINX ice cream powder with milk. Make sure HIJINX is dissolved completely.

3. Gently stir in the cubed pear and blue cheese crumbles into the mixture.

4. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

5. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter.

6. Freeze for 3-6 hours. Enjoy!

RICHER VERSION

1. Replace 1 ½ cups of milk with 1 cup whole milk and ½ cup heavy cream.

2. For a stronger taste, double the amount of pear. Peel, dice and cook with 1 tablespoon sugar until pear turns soft. 

3. Save 2 tablespoons of pear, and mix the remaining with milk, HIJINX ice cream powder and half the blue cheese. 

4. Gently stir the remaining blue cheese and pears into the mixture after the 30 minute wait period.

OPTIONAL

Dissolve honey in warmed milk as an enhancer.
