We can finally see what Geminis taste like! Show the other (read: worse) zodiac signs what you’re made of--literally! What flavors make a Capricorn (guessing bourbon, cherries, and gold flakes)?

Extra challenge: Trade flavors with another sign. Those sexy Scorpios are gonna be SPICY.

 

SAMPLE RECIPES

1. CANCER: Cherry Oreo Ice cream 

Cancers are kind and have a high level of emotional intelligence. Cherry represents their love and warmth and Oreo represents home, comfort and familiarity.

INGREDIENTS
  • HIJINX ice cream mix
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup cherry pie filling
  • ½ cup oreos, crushed
    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Warm the milk over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil).

    2. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with milk. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

    3. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

    4. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter.

    5. After 30 minutes, gently stir in cherry pie filling and crushed oreos. For better distribution, stir in after 1-2 hours of freezing.

    6. Freeze for 3 - 6 hours. Enjoy!

    2. LEO: Spicy Margarita  

    Leo's are confident, loving and the centre of attention. Whats better than a spicy margarita ice cream for them to bring to the party.

    INGREDIENTS
    • HIJINX ice cream mix
    • 1 ½ cups half & half
    • 2 limes, juiced
    • 2 tablespoons agave
    • flaked sea salt
    • 2 oz tequila
    • 1 jalapeño, sliced longways
      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. Warm the half & half and jalapeños over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil). Remove from heat and strain the milk to remove the jalapeño.

      2. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with the warm milk mixture, lime juice, agave, and salt. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

      3. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter. 

      4. Blend or stir in tequila.

      5. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

      6. Freeze for 3 - 6 hours. Enjoy!

      3. VIRGO: Lavender

      Virgos are loyal friends, perfectionists and practical. Honey represents Virgo's unwavering commitment to relationships, and the benefits of lavender speak to their practicality.

      INGREDIENTS
      • HIJINX ice cream mix
      • 1 ½ cups whole milk
      • 3 tablespoons honey
      • 1 tablespoons dried lavender flowers
      • pinch of salt
      • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
        INSTRUCTIONS

        1. Warm the milk and dried lavender flowers over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil). Remove from heat and let the mixture sit for 30 minutes. Strain the milk to remove the lavender.

        2. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with the warm milk mixture, honey, sea salt and vanilla extract. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined. Make sure the honey is dissolved.

        3. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

        4. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter.

        5. Freeze for 3 - 6 hours. Enjoy!

        4. SCORPIO: Chocolate Whiskey

        • 2 tablespoons cocoa
        • 2 oz whiskey

          1. Warm the half & half and cocoa powder over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil). 

          2. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with the milk mixture. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

          3. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter. 

          4. Blend or stir in whiskey.

          5. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

          6. Freeze for 3 - 6 hours. Enjoy!

          5. CAPRICORN: Vanilla Olive Oil Sea Salt

          Capricorns are hard-working, goal oriented traditionalists. A classic vanilla with earthy olive oil and sea salt marries their sense of tradition and earth sign.

          INGREDIENTS

            6. TAURUS: Blackberry Chip

            Tauruses are bold and indulgent. The vivid color of blackberries and the rich chocolate chips make for a perfect Taurus flavor.

            INGREDIENTS
            • HIJINX ice cream mix
            • 1 ½ cups half & half
            • 1 cup blackberries
            • 1 tablespoon sugar
            • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
            • 1 cup chocolate chips
              INSTRUCTIONS

              1. Add blackberries, sugar and lemon juice to a saucepan and heat over medium-high heat, until the berries release juices and begin to simmer, about 5 - 7 minutes. 

              2. Pour the berries through a mesh strainer to remove any seeds. Set aside. Your blackberry purée is ready!

              3. Warm milk on stove or in the microwave for 30 - 60 seconds until hot, not boiling. 

              4. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with milk and blackberry purée. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

              5. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter.

              6. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

              7. After 30 minutes, gently stir in chocolate chips. For better distribution, freeze for 1 - 2 hours before stirring in.

              8. Freeze for 3 - 6 hours. Enjoy!

              7. ARIES: Rosemary Honey Walnut

              Aries are daring and fun. The boldness of rosemary with cheerful disposition of honey and directness of walnuts is the perfect combination.

              INGREDIENTS
              • HIJINX ice cream mix
              • 1 ½ cups half & half
              • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary/ ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
              • ½ cup walnuts, chopped
                INSTRUCTIONS

                1. Warm the half & half, rosemary and honey over medium heat or microwave until it just beings to boil. Make sure the honey is fully dissolved. 

                2. Remove from heat, let it sit for 30 minutes, or until desired flavor is achieved. Strain milk to remove rosemary.

                3. Reheat the milk mixture on stove or in the microwave for 30 - 60 seconds or until hot. (Do not boil)

                4. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with the milk. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

                5. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter.

                6. After 30 minutes, gently stir in walnuts. For better distribution, freeze for 1 - 2 hours before stirring in.

                7. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

                8. LIBRA: Balsamic Strawberry

                The harmonious flavors of strawberry and balsamic represent the balance of Libras. Libra is also the sign of love, resembled in the shape of the strawberry.

                INGREDIENTS
                • HIJINX ice cream mix
                • 1 ½ cups half & half
                • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and chopped
                • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
                • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
                • 2 teaspoons sugar
                    INSTRUCTIONS

                    1. In a saucepan, heat strawberries, balsamic and sugar over medium-high heat for about 5 - 7 minutes, until juices are released and somewhat reduced. Set aside.

                    2. Warm the half & half and vanilla over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil). Make sure the vanilla is dissolved. 

                    3. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with the milk and balsamic strawberry mixture. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

                    4. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes on your counter.

                    5. Transfer to a freezer-safe container with an airtight lid.

                    9. SAGITTARIOUS: Soy Sauce Caramel

                        • 1 teaspoon cotton candy extract (more or less to taste)
                        • 2 - 3 drops pink food coloring
                        • 2 - 3 drops blue food coloring 
                          INSTRUCTIONS

                          1. Warm the milk and cotton candy extract over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil). 

                          2. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with the milk. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

                          3. Pour mixture into two separate bowls. Add pink food coloring to one bowl and blue to the other. Stir until incorporated. Let bowls rest on the counter for 30 minutes.

                           4. After 30 minutes, alternate pouring each color into a freezer safe container with an airtight lid.

                          5. Freeze for 3 - 6 hours. Enjoy!
