WHAT YOU'LL DO

Share some rainbow-colored ice cream (or specific colors that speak to your identity) with your family or friends during pride month! 

 

SAMPLE RECIPES

Progress Ice Cream

Celebrate pride by honoring all those represented in the Progress flag, including black and brown stripes to represent marginalized LGBTQ+ communities of color, and pink, light blue and white, representing the Transgender Pride Flag.

INGREDIENTS
  • HIJINX ice cream mix
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 - 2 drops food coloring: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink and blue
  • ½ teaspoon cocoa powder
  • ⅓ cup white chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup blue sprinkles
INSTRUCTIONS

1. Warm the milk and vanilla over medium heat or microwave for 30 - 60 seconds (do not boil).

2. Using a blender, combine 1 packet of HIJINX ice cream mix with milk and vanilla. Blend for one minute or until thoroughly combined.

3. Divide mixture into 8 bowls. Put 1 - 2 drops each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink and blue food coloring into 7 of the bowls. Put ½ tsp cocoa powder into one of the bowls. Mix thoroughly.

4. Let each color rest for 30 minutes in its own dish.

5. After 30 minutes, get an airtight freezer safe container. with an airtight lid. Layer ½ of each of the 8 colors on top of each other, sprinkling small amounts of the white chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips and blue sprinkles between each color. Repeat the layering until all of the colors, chocolate chips and sprinkles are used.

6. With a knife, gently swirl the colors together. Be careful not to overmix.

7. Freeze for 3-6 hours. Enjoy!
